September Weekend 2019

The pictures below were taken on our September weekend (Friday 27th to Sunday 29th Sept) Setting off from Ballygawley Roundabout the run took in a scenic route via Clones and Butlers Bridge before proceeding down the main road via Granard and Edgeworthstown to Longford town. We stayed 2 nights in the very comfortable Longford Arms Hotel and Spa.

On Saturday we visited Strokestown Park House and Famine Museum where we got a most interesting guided tour of this 18th century mansion.

On Sunday we made our way to Dromod Railway & Transport Museum which contained a great range of narrow gauge trains, buses, planes, fire engines and artillery guns from World War I & II. Most of these were outside in the elements so luckily it was dry for our visit.

Co. Antrim Run – Sunday 25th August

This year we visited the Andrew Jackson Cottage and US Ranger’s Centre in Carrickfergus where we had an excellent guided tour. We also had a picnic there before heading off along the Antrim Coast road to Glenarm harbour. We had our evening meal in Ballyclare Golf Club. The weather was fantastic!

Visit to Jim Black’ Roll Royce Works – 6th February 2019

The Photos below were taken at the Club’s visit to Jim Black’s Rolls Royce Restoration works on 6th February 2019. This is an internationally recognised company dedicated to the restoration and maintenance of historic Rolls Royce cars, with particular expertise in the Silver Ghost models. We were all fascinated with the history of Rolls Royce and amazed at the quality of the workmanship being carried out here.
